Samuel Staples Elementary School is the public school serving the Town of Easton. SSES offers multiple sections of every grade level K-5, including a dedicated space for our early intervention preschool and related services. Our facility includes 2 gyms, 3 art rooms, 3 music rooms, a media center, computer lab, and several ancillary rooms that offer smaller space for small group or individual instruction in the areas of reading, speech, special education, OT and PT.
Serving the bucolic, suburban towns of Easton and Redding in Connecticut, Joel Barlow High School, the public school for ER9, is distinguished for its ability to attain high standards while integrating complex thinking, promoting communication, and building community. Of the eighty seven faculty members, forty three hold 6th year certificates or equivalent, thirty nine have master’s degrees, and two baccalaureates.
Easton Country Day School is a private co-educational school for Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. ECDS was founded by educators who wanted the best possible academic and social foundation for their own children. Their vision was a safe and loving learning environment where the values taught at home were echoed and strengthened. Today, we help all our students develop towards their full academic, moral, creative and physical potential in an atmosphere that fosters respect and loving-kindness.
Helen Keller Middle School is the public middle school serving the Town of Easton. HKMS offers grade levels 6-8. The school curriculum includes courses in language arts, math, science, social studies, world language, physical education, music, and fine and practical arts, among others. Additionally, special education services are offered for students who have been identified as having special education needs according to federal and state guidelines.
Playtots Preschool, a state licensed program, offers an excellent early childhood education for 2- to 5-year-olds. At Playtots, you’ll find a friendly, nurturing and safe environment for your child in our modern facility. We promote the social, emotional, physical and intellectual development of our students and support a child’s ability to question, think, and problem solve through enrichment activities such as art, music, creative movement, Spanish and physical education.
Little Phoenix, part of Easton Country Day School, is a comprehensive early childhood program, providing a rich curriculum in a nurturing and secure facility. Children develop towards their full academic, moral, creative and physical potential through the “Original Play” program, using monthly themes, and hands-on activities to foster growth. We encourage independence, individuality, creativity and a positive self-image for every child in our care. We also offer daycare for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
New Academy Preschool offers a developmentally appropriate program for children ages 2-5. Children learn through play in our positive, nonjudgmental atmosphere with activities to encourage growth in areas such as fine and gross motor skills, language, and social and emotional development. The progressive curriculum includes music, yoga, science, Spanish, and life skills such as manners, friendship, kindness, empathy, and respect.
